We liked it :)
We love Moana and ultimately enjoyed the movie. I could tell by the first song that Lin Manuel wasn’t involved which is a big bummer. The music of OG Moana was really special, this one is just meh. I think there were too many new characters and many lacked development. We did have many belly laughs and lots of cute moments! I love that this movie doesn’t focus on love interest or have a Prince Charming element, and while a few flirty comments were made, overall the theme is Moana believing in herself to overcome hard things. There were a few intense moments like all Disney movies — a scary sea monster and a few moments you think characters have died but they all come back to life. They definitely left things open for a third Moana but I have a feeling this one may not be a hit for them sadly! We liked it but we didn’t love it!

Colourful but not worth it
It's bright and beautifully animated but has a boring plot, one note characters, no personal struggles, and songs that just trudged along woefully. Felt like a cheap recreation of the original...didn't we already spend the first movie trying to sail out to new islands, and you wanna do it again and pretend it's as exciting as the first time? It might be one of the few movies kids are willing to sit through, but that doesn't mean it's quality. And sure it's great she doesn't end up with a prince, but then give her something interesting and worthwhile to fight for.

Moana 2:A classic fail of making the sequal!
I just wanna start off by saying how much I missed coming here to write reviews, gosh! It’s been long since i wrote a review. Anyway so getting to the point….well, Moana 2 wasn’t able to do that. The movie was just too void of a plot. People had come with expectations, hoping to see connections from its first part, future development of existing characters, a powerful force, villain to fight off and not to forget peepy songs.(Your welcome is still my favourite song!, even after 8 years). I don’t wish to give away any spoilers so i am just gonna say it…that this sequel was VERY disappointing. Disney needs to upgrade its storyline. The animation was fabulous, as it always is, bu the movie can only unleash its full potential with great aniamation and greater story. We all had expected Moana to be more daring, adventurous and strong. Although i saw they had made her well built in this movie, she didn’t had any personality development. Maui only came in majorly in the second part of the movie and besides the “CHEE HO” song his lines and behaviour just didnt feel Maui enough. Hmm…songs There was NO LIN MANUEL MIRANDA, AND THAT WAS A BIG BUMMER. The songs just didnt hit enough, as they had earlier. The movie is surely a one time family watch. The animation is killer, (colour theme is a bit Matt ), Moana and Maui are definitely back in some shape or the other and it’s a new animated movie, so you should watch. Although i will be honest enough to tell you that the movie lacks even some comical elements. I do wonder why, the dialogues just didn’t felt real cause of that. All i wanna say is it was a good movie just not what standards,Disney has already achieved up to. FINGERS CROSSED FOR “MUFASA:THE LION KING”.(I already have a good feeling about this one)

Family friendly, uplifting and heartwarming
It’s extremely hard to find family friendly movies these days, so Moana 2 is a welcome treat. Sure there is lots of peril, endless talk of death and eating the cute animal friends, but compared to almost every other kids movie out there it’s harmless.Oh yeah and the music is uplifting and heartwarming, the vocal cast is top notch and the Rock has still got it.

Underwhelming
My kids were bored at the premiere. It wasn't enjoyable for me either. Was looking forward to the music but that flopped. (Will say more after the embargo lifts, but if you watch it you'll understand why they only decided to lift it day of...)
